Re: Good Books on Training a Young 1/2 Arabian?

Sindy,
Cherry Hill has two really good books that spell every out in great detail
and loads of pictures. "The Formative Years, Birth to Two years" and
"Making, Not Breaking, First Year Under Saddle" Being part Arab, they tend
to mature slower, emotionally and physically. So maybe not push as fast/far
as with, maybe full QH. Sounds like your filly is well along. Do you have
a good, stable gelding to pony her? or a riding buddy with same to accompany
you on trail? arena work is great but I sometimes wonder if the horse
really understands what we are doing and why? Although, it does become
obvious once on trails.
Good luck and happy training!
