Re: Re: Heat & Human electrolytes & Diet
High bp - that would be me, too. What helps me is food with water in it,
fruits, etc. Homemade trail mix. Substantial sandwhiches. Non-salty foods on
the trail - But, once I'm home a big, fat, juicy cheeseburger (maybe two!),
the salads, etc. Something substantial with fat in it, with whole milk,
super cold. I load right up, don't care who's lookin! Any headache I may
have almost always disappears before I'm even done eating. I know they say
fat can bring the migraines on, but this has worked for me since I've been a
teenager.
I have learned that I have to take time to pack a sustantial meal/s and eat
like a starved dog when I'm done. Of course, I never go anywhere without my
Imitrex and a backup for my migraines. I do take Pepsi in one of my bottles,
but it's usually the decaf kind, and mostly ice, anyway. I don't drink tea
or coffee at all.
If I ever get to actually go on an organized ride, y'all would recognize me
as I'd be the one protectively growling over my food at the post ride meal.
