recipe for homemade sports drinks
Hi all,
for those of you who want to save money you can make your own
sports drink. The following recipe results in a formulation very
much like Gatorade:
2/3 cup store brand lemonade mix (2 tablespoons have 110 calories and 26
gm CHO) 2 1/4 quarts water 1/4-1/2 tsp salt
This is a 6% CHO solution and 8 ounces provides approximately 65
calories, 65-130 mg sodium, and 15 grams CHO.
If you want more salt, simply increase to 1 tsp per 2 quarts, or
according to taste.
