RC: search and rescue horses]

Debby....

Blue Ridge, GA has a "First Response" Equine Rescue Organization, which
is a part of the Georgia Emergency Response Agency. We are the only
organization of this kind in the State of Georgia. We were organized
just last year. Our proximity to the heavily used Cohutta/Big Frog
Wilderness makes tourist problems (getting lost, stung by bees, etc.) a
primary concern. We have no "track record" at this point, but we are
working on additional training for ourselves (CPR, First Aid, etc) and
training for our horses. We have an "exercise" with the local FD and
Emergency Management personnel this fall.

Jim, Sun of Dimanche, and Mahada Magic
