RE: 'Fit to Continue'

I believe there is to much speculation going on here and to many opinions
not based on fact. To begin with, it was stated by one person <<<I was proud
of the Head Vet who decided not to give a BC award as he felt that all the
horses that were eligible were not BC material. I applaud his commitment to
the welfare of our horses and I feel he made a powerful statement with his
decision, and one that we should all fully support.>>>

Now that is one version,

Then we have <<<Mostly the BC award is based on a general term of "Fit to
Continue". None of the top 13 horses were. The Vet said he looked until
13th place to find a BC. >>>

That is another version.

Now what did the Vet really say???

Were the horses just not BC condition or were they not fit to continue? Only
the Head Vet knows and unless He comes on line and so states it will remain
unknown.

So, please do not speculate any further as it does us no good and lots of
harm.

I thought horses had to be 'Fit to Continue' just to get a completion, not
just for a BC. If none of them were fit to continue then why did any of
them pass?
