Tranqs for Trailering?

One of my boarders is planning to take a 2 week vacation trip to NM with
his horse.  Trip will take 12 hours each way. He would like to investigate
mild tranqualizers to help the horse travel easier.  Has anyone tried
Quietex or anything similar?  I tried to post with my normal subscription,
but it never appeared, so am posting as a guest here.
