GERA Fundraiser

I just got back from the FERA Fundraiser in Dawson Forest, Georgia. For
me the ride was a success, even throught the heat and high humidity. I
rode the gelding that always causes excitement. After he ran away with
me at Million Pines, we spent the summer educating him on lateral
yeilding. I am proud to say that I now have a horse that listens to me
well, and is a pleasure to ride. We completed the 50 mile distance. That
was my goal, to complete safely. That proved to me that both the
training and conditioning programs work. Now if I can just get my own
body in shape...

Another little note worth mentioning. Trinity's pulse did not want to
come down after the ride. It was 60 at our campsite. We walked him over
to the p/r area, and the pulse went up. I picked up his feet and there
was a stone wedged in his foot. Once we removed the rock, his pulse
stayed down. The rock had not been there long enough to cause him to
limp, but it was causing enough pain to keep his pulse up. When in
doubt, check their feet.
