Every saddle I build has a small bit of custom tooling rite on the pommel on the near side. No 2 are alike. It gives a "fingerprint" for ID. And is not so easily removed as are stirrup leathers. It's pretty sad, I have always been fond of the idea that we can just ride off for the day and not worry about all our stuff. Frontier justice is alive and well in my camp! Annie G.
