Raven's Tevis

Hi all!
  Sarah & I just got back from an exciting time crewing for our dear horse 
Raven in the Tevis! And what a great horse he is! He impressed us & so many 
others with his calm acceptance of the whole grueling process that is Tevis! 
From vet check to vet check, stuffing his face with mash & hay, a calm look 
in his eye amidst all the excitement, taking care of himself.
  Raven is the 1st Kentucky Mountain Horse to attempt Tevis & is the 1st to 
complete! Out of 225 starters there were 91 finishers & Raven was 47th! A 
comfortable middle of the pack as was planned! Raven looked great at the 
finish! He looked great the next day! Except for the #1 on his butt, no one 
would ever know that he just did the toughest 100 miler in the world! He 
made us proud!
  Thanks to Steve Elliott for believing in this breed & Raven in particular! 
He rode him so well. They made a great team! Mostly A's & some B's on the 
vet card, the vets loved him! Straight A's at Lower Quarry, the last check 
before the finish!

  Next year Sarah will be 12 & can ride Raven in her 1st Tevis, his 2nd!
