Stumbling, tripping...

Barb Peck bpeck@together.net
Hi:

IMO, your horse has an undetected problem some where.
Horses usually make a supreme effort to stay on their feet
and don't stumble and fall (especially at the lope or gallop)
as oftem as your describing.

This horse may be landing toe first for some reason.
Observe him in the pasture and see if this is the case.

Excessively long toes could be responsible for stumbling at the
walk, too (Just can't get them out of the way fast enough).
OR,
It could be one problem, or it could be a combination of things.
Excessively long toes could be responsible for stumbling at the
walk, too (Just can't get them out of the way fast enough).

I'd have a vet exam, starting with looking at the toes angles
and lenghth. And go from the feet up.

Good luck,
Barb
