AAA is the same as the insurance company.  They are both part of California State Automobile Association, not to be confused with Automobile Club of Southern California which is affiliated in some way but I am not sure how.

AAA can and does go anywhere, especially if you have the plus.  I have no idea where anyone would get the idea that they don't go onto private property.  They come to your house to change tires, bring gas, jump start batteries, etc., and your driveway is certainly private property. And you do have to tell them if it is a big rig or you may get a tow truck smaller that your truck.

I think the mixup comes because they are not part of the Southern California Association.  CSAA is Northern California, Nevada and Utah.......
