For an very interesting article about "Barcode" the zebra that completed the No Frills ride, check out this article that was in the state newspaper on Jan. 10.  Sadly, the pictures are not in the archive.

"Barcode is a Grevy's zebra. Only about 5,400 exist in the wild, with about 200 more in North American zoos. Under federal law they are a threatened species - not as dire as endangered, but still protected.

....who trains horses as a hobby, said she didn't know it was illegal when she bought Barcode three years ago and brought him up from Texas."
