Bo update

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the well wishes and
concerns about Bo (Fa Al Badi+/). The operation was very successful (Dane
is a wizard) and Bo was up and walking soon after surgery!

Alas, my fears were realized; Bo's unending energy and zest for life was to
be his undoing...he ended up getting cast almost a week later and thrashing
around...compressing
the cast and causing the pins to cut him badly. We had to put him down
immediately. He was doing excellent until then, but this is something that
could have happened any day during his recovery. I do not regret that we
tried but it was not to be.

Bo was retired sound at 3500 miles two years ago this month, mainly because
other horses needed the experience, and he was never happy being left
behind. I will always remember the time he got out and we couldn't find
him....he was in the horse trailer "ready to go"!

So I dont know how much of a "quality life" he would have had. I do not
know if he would have been crippled, in pain on some days, could breed mares
next year, might rebreak it, or be "fine".

Now, I suppose, he is out racing with his best friend Savoy, our Russian
stallion who was his pasture mate and endurance buddy for seven years and
over 1000 miles....and someday... he will come back and pick me up.....

Live with no regrets, everyone.
