German hoofboots
I brought back a pair of German "MARQUIS Supergrip"
hoofboots from the Equitana in Germany in March. This is a fairly new product
and looks very promising. Unfortunately I got the wrong size, I need one size
smaller. For info you can check out their website http://www.marquis-tech.com, the website
has an English version. The biggest difference is that they are held on the
horses hoof with an inflatable cushion. Kinda "Air-Arabs" You get a little
bicycle air pump, and then you "pump them up". The pump is small enough that it
fits in a fannypack. The air cushion comes up over the bulbs, and they stay on
really good once pumped up. You can adjust the lenght from toe to heel with the
air cushion, but the width has to measured for size. I have a size 3, they are
supposed to fit 4.96 inches wide to 5.31 inches wide. I need a size 2. Their
sizes have much smaller increments.
Anyway, because it is too expensive to ship them
back to Germany, I am offering them to some adventures person for sale. I paid
$169 a pair (ouch), and will take $130.00 for the pair. Yes, these boots are
spendy, but all the parts are replaceable (soles, buckles,air-cushion, etc.) and
they are supposed to last a long time.
I can not endorse these boots at this time, because
I have not put miles on with them. The main reason I was interested in them is
because my horse has low heels, and I have trouble keeping Easyboots on
(barefoot). There are some endorsements from distance riders on the german
website.I will order a size 2, and give them a try.
At this time you can't buy these boots in the US,
but they stated that they are interested in expanding their market to the US.
For questions please contact leosch@minot.com and I will share the little
info I have.
