Another Lyme Question.

People are suggesting two modes of treatment.

1. 4 days of IV tetracycline first and then 4 weeks of oral doxycyline.

2. 4 weeks of oral doxycycline only.

Why the two different suggestions?  Does the stage of the disease indicate
which treatment is more appropriate?  Because this horse would obviously be
very early into the disease, would the 4 weeks oral doxy be enough as has
been recommended for it's owner?

This information will be a help to the vet, too.
As much as they DON'T know about lyme in the east....multiply that by about
10 or more out here.

Thanks again.
