DEAD HORSE, LD'S

steven thompson carr@succeed.net
o.k i've been reading all the flaming about ld's
overridding e.t.c. if this person at malibu were
doing a 50 would it have gotten as much attention?
if the horse that died on a 50 been on a ld instead
there would be alot more attention to it. I do both
ld's and above for various reasons i think they both
should treated the same as it is still a competion
no matter what you call it and it is still and accomplish
ment to finish with a horse in good shape, if you don't
compete at 25's and 30's how is anyone expected to know
how to go farther. Maybe if ld's weren't looked down upon
the rider at nastr would have done some ld's and learned
more about the sport and how to ride to finish instead of
starting on a 50.By no means am i an expert (quite the
opposite) but beginers and career ld's should ride and compete
together. as was said before beginers at the longer distances
are not singled out and seperated from the experts.
