A/C with Heat Strips

Question,

How good do these things work in cold weather?? I am trying to
decide if I need to keep my wall mounted propane heater (which is
wonderful) for my new trailer. It has ac with heat strips but someone told
me it doesn't work well under 40 degrees.   Any suggestions.
