Re: Marciante Saddles

I just got a marciente and am loving it. My mare has a short back, wide
shoulders and low withers I was having a hard time finding a saddle that fit
her. I bought mine used and was lucky it fit fine. If you buy a used one
Frank Marciente will adjust it to fit your horse at a great price. If you
are used to a deep seat western saddle ( what I had) it is very different to
learn to ride in. It forces you to be a better rider. The seat can be padded
more or less to your liking. I have a problem with getting sore knees and
this saddle does not cause that to happen. The rigging can be adjusted
wherever you need it. It is a good looking saddle and he custom makes pads
to go with it. I did not however care for the pad and have started using a
woolback toklat, really like it alot. Another saddle in the same price range
is the Stonewall 909-928-3244 they are in Perris California and there
saddles look mush better in person than in there catalog. They are more
secure and lighter weight- from around 12# to 16# I believe. I was going to
order one of these saddles before I found the one I ended up with. They are
custom made you can take back tracings and send it to them or if you are
close, you can take your horse and he will do it. These are the two that I
found to be a good combination of English and western saddles at a fair
price. These can also be sent in for readjusting and repair if needed. I
love the soft leather on my marciente and my mare can really move out great.
Try to find one used on the Internet for half price and save more money if
you need to. Good luck Patti

I am seriously looking for a new saddle and the Marciante sure is within my
budget!
