Re: RC: treeless saddle

Jan,
Don't know anything about the Tuend saddles, but I do know of a horse with the same type of girth groove you describe. My gelding's dam has a girth groove that is practically non-existent. She wears a sport saddle, and the girths we've found that work for her (and that the rest of the bunch at our barn who wear them like as well) are the ones Teddy makes (http://www.runningbear.com). She can make all different types of girths so even if you get a different one than the sport saddle she more than likely has a girth that will fit.
I love my sport saddle and so does my gelding -- and I'm a heavyweight rider but have had no problems that weren't easily solved.

I have a shortbacked wide-ish pony who has a forward girth groove. This causes his skin to "wrinkle" slightly when his shoulder moves back under the saddle. Does anyone have any idea whether the treeless saddles (particularly Tuend) are suitable for this type of shoulder. I know its very difficult when you cant see the pony/saddle but I am keen to gather as much info as possible before I do anything else.
