Sarcoids/Sarcoid Meds

I purchased Compound X at Vetline in Ft. Collins, CO to treat my filly
with a sarcoid on her shoulder in the area where a breastcollar sits. I
received instructions from the Vet who owns (?) Vetline when I purchased
it, and followed them. I didn't have any luck with the product. The
formerly quarter-sized sarcoid blew up into a silver dollar sized
sarcoid ow-ee. The flies would not leave it alone, the filly would rub
on it, it really got ugly. I understand that this flare up/fall off
thing is part of the process, but when the crust would fall off the
sarcoid never seemed to be getting any smaller or less active. We went
through the whole process twice and on the third treatment, with the
sarcoid a low-grade infected mass, I called my vet who came out and
froze the sarcoid with liquid nitrogen. That worked beautifully and now
she has a quarter-sized smooth scar which is re-growing a little patchy
hair. Next time, I'll go straight for the freezing, and would recommend
that you do too.
