Re: RC: Ortho-Flex stirrup pinch/wear

I got a Soft Steel Patriot a few months ago and the leather cover over the
cam lock buckles kept bruising my shin. I tried diff "fixes" but finally put
on wintec stirrup "leathers" (not the webbers, you need a stirrup bar for
that) with the buckle down at the bottom. I ordered a pair of real sheepskin
covers from the Australian Connection to stop wear on the saddle. I use half
chaps that velcro and the velcro chewed a hole in the saddle pad, but I've
never had them wear a saddle, but my saddles have been synthetic. I have a
pair of JMS 2" wide black stirrup leather covers I don't need. They do not
have velcro but you can thread the stirrup straps thru them. I shortened them
from 18" to 15". They will not fit over the leather buckle cover but only
above it. I'm happy with the saddle otherwise, I guess it just takes time to
work out the little things.
