heat bumps

Linda Flemmer's response on heat bumps is right on.
There is fluid in those bumps, and can eventually
cause pain, or permanently thicken the skin if you don't
remove the cause.
Have someone check your saddle fit, and make sure your
pad is not adding to the problem.
If your saddle is OK.. you may want to try Karl's Vent pad
(dixiemidnight.. advertises on this site)
as it does what it's advertised to do, plus has the added benefit
(when used with another good overpad) of being able to ride
with a looser girth, for those horses
that have less than perfect withers, or a really round barrel.
