RE: Saddles
I'll speak up for Sharon's saddles. One of the biggest problems we have here
is the fact that saddles are imported more or less ad lib...like maybe they
fit Arabs, QH's (like we have them???) or warmbloods....but you can never
try them out. I've gone through a number of old Stubbens on various horses,
done ok with a Crosby Prix des Nations, and almost crippled a horse with the
wrong size Orthoflex. Sharon stopped by on a visit from the Gulf and I
ordered a couple of saddles for my mares, who I figured had earned some
saddles that fit. Took me a while to get...especially since I have to find
someone coming from the US. They took some getting used to on my part and
the balance issue also took some work, but I'm now very happy and attached
to my saddles. Have ordered two more. Love them.

Could we also add Sharon Saare, Synergist, De Soto. I'm on a saddle hunt.
Have a very round, wide withered mare (hopefully she will get more
definition as she conditions) that my saddle slides up no matter what. I use
a Bighorn endurance now ( I think the center fire rigging "pushes" the
saddle forward as the girth keeps wanting to slide off of the biggest part
of her belly)and the further forward the saddle slides, the heavier she is
on the forehand (it's frustrating). Am training her on the crupper, but
long term I want a saddle that FITS, and won't slide around so much. Am
leaning towards the De Soto (love the price) know people who LOVE the
Synergist (but had hard time getting the right fit at first).
I don't want any flames re: different saddle makers, just facts on how they
fit different types of horses.
Thanks,
Judy
