Re: Electrolyte Comparisson - updated; input from Susan?

I've got even more advice - give early and give often. I spent 3 years of
the 4 I rode Tony in rides wondering why he didn't eat and drink enough -
what could I be doing? or not doing? to help this I wondered after each
ride....

It wasn't till I started really reading posts from folks like Angie and
Truman and others who were giving elytes almost every hour - give or take -
that I began to change the way I gave them - why it took me so long to
change my protocol I don't know :). Instead of just at each check, which
could vary widely in time depending on the length of that loop, I started
also giving every 1 1/2 or so.

Once I started doing that - bam! Tony, the horse who would go 25 miles in SE
hot, humid conditions before drinking, began sucking it down on the first
loop and it only got better as the day went on.
