clothespin trail marking

>Got a quick question...Usually we tie our markers(ribbons) to trees when we can, then pull it off when we're done...

What about using close pins with the ribbon tied to them? I've heard of people using this, but does it really work? Do they stay, even if the wind gets blowing hard?

It works great! You can mark/unmark in a fraction of the time (often at a trot!), and you can re-use the pin/ribbons. And you get to look really, truly bizaare trotting down the trail with hundreds of pins/ribbons hanging off you and your horse!

They stay on in wind as well as anything does....
