10th to 1st in 60 secs.

Robin Hood, the mustang is such an incredible horse. He knows his job.
All day long he stuck his head in the feed and ate and ate, and drank
and drank. He seemed to know the lengths of the hold times because about
5 minutes before each out time he would stop and stand, knowing that the
electrolytes where coming. He would pout but put up with it...

He is not a vigorous horse, you can ride him in a halter. But he is sure
STEADY. Just keeps going on down the trail.

Michele and I were so focused on his feed, water and lytes that we lost
track of the competition in front of us at the Lakeside Ride. (There is
a role for the Art P's in the world, keep those stats coming!!)

Michele's goal was 10th place and a chance at BC. She thought she was in
6th place on the last loop (with a pack of 4 along with her.) Thankfully
she had pre-ridden the last loop the day before and knew where the
finish line was. She crossed it ahead of the "Pack" a quarter of a mile
before camp where it was, the rest thinking that it was closer to camp.

Imagine ALL of their surprise when then found out that they were the
first ones in! Warren Hellman got second place to his and all of our
surprise. And didn't get lost.

AND Michele did complete her main goal. :)
