When I went to NM for the NC last year, I traveled out I40 from TN -
never again worst road I have been on

I went about 6 to 7 hrs each day about 350 more or less. Miles depend
on how fast you drive and how good the roads are. I tried to do about
55 to 65 mph on the I roads but I40 I was down to 45mph for most of
the way in ARK.
Stopped every 2 hrs, short 15 min, then on to the 4 hrs did a half
hour to 45min unload - feed
wet beet pulp - grass if we picked a good spot.

KOA WEST of Miss.. rough in the East camping with horse. I did risk
two public arenas - he did ok but could have some bad bugs there.
Had covered pens at one.
Think the longest I would travel in one day with him is 8 hrs. Some
horses cannot take the long hauls - he is one.
We did have a great time - took 3 night camp arrive on day 4
Knoxville Tn to Ft Stantion NM (sp) We both arrived in great shape.
Did the same going back
