ROFLMAO!!  Big bucks?  Arabian show ring?  They used thoes two in the same
sentence?  Ya see, the only way to make big money in the arabian show ring
is to spend big bucks on trainers.  The only thing that pays are the
futurities...and not much at that until you get to the national level.  So,
if they've got $10K to hire a trainer to show the horse in the open
classes..not to mention training and tack just to win $100K if they're in
the top .1% of the nations competing horses...well then I guess showing is
for them.

I used to show, got way to frustrated with the politics involved at anything
above the Class A amature level.  (All the breeds are alike IMO, as far as
politics and showing go).  Decided to go the more objective route...and have
an objective evaluation of my horse's abilities from a ride judge.

Now, since my decision to do this, and our decision to have another baby
coincided...I've had to put that little project on hold.  Now that Katie's 2
1/2 yrs old we're gonna try it again this year...

Good luck to all the folks who have decided to ditch the politics and just
enjoy the scenery!
