I had a similar experience once. This redneck was flying down the dirt road
where Dance Line and I were trotting away, like we didn't have a care in the
world. I pulled back on the reins and got Dance to walk, then stand still,
as he came towards us. I pulled off to the right because it looked like this
guy was doing 80 miles an hour on this dirt road. Then, he went to his left
on the road and intentionally headed right towards us.
I got Dance to jump over this ditch (I think they call it a culvert down
here) for our protection. The redneck flew by us and looked at me with a
toothless grin yelling, "Get out of my way horse boy." This is when I lost
total control and the rest of my memory is a blur.
I pulled out my gun from the saddlebag, aimed and started firing. I was
gonna kill this person and I did not care if I got caught and did time. I
had lost my mind. After the third shot, this animal posing as a human, with
a Confederate flag flying from the back of his pickup, backed up his truck
and came after me and my horse. I did not run. Instead I got Dance into a
gallop, put the reins in my teeth (yea, I watched True Grit) and took careful
aim with my gun. Someone was going to die today.
One of my bullets hit the back window and glass went flying. As soon as this
happen the truck no longer came at me in reverse, but came to a complete
standstill. Dust flew in the air from the back tires. I stopped firing,
knowing I only had one shot left, and waited for the redneck to come out of
the cab. I was pretty certain he was going to be armed so I didn't want to
miss with my last bullet. I was breathing so hard, my heart was pumping so
fast, it was all I could do to stay focused on the job at hand.
Suddenly, he took off. Fast forward, and gave me the finger as he did. I
took my last shot and aimed for his left rear tire. It connected and the
tire exploded. The noise was so loud it woke me up from my sound sleep.
haha.
cya,
Howard (I will ride and ride and ride. Your big OLE truck will not deter me
and my mighty steed)
