Re: RC: Problem with stall walking mare
Meaghan:
You need to feed her more hay. I don't understand this, but why do show
peopl feed lots of grain and no hay? We bought a former halter horse who
was fed 12 qts of 14% grain a day, and 4 flakes of hay a day. He weighs
about 1200 lbs and was crazy. We cut him back to 2 lbs of 10% grain and he
gets about 12 flakes of hay a day. He also gets worked more. He has a much
better disposition than when we got him and he doesn't have the mental
problems when we got him. I'd really like to hear why show people feed the
way you do. Thanks,
Carolyn Burgess
