I don't know where you live, but where I live (New England) it gets to be -10 below zero and no matter what you clip, you have to blanket.

you won't have to blanket if you only do a trace
clip, no matter where you live. This type of clip will
allow your horse to cool out much faster as well. That
is what a trace clip is used for..certainly not for
looks!
