When we had our ranch in Atascadero we opened it up to the tour bus
groups (about one/month) and they were filled with Sr. Citizens. We'd do
a little performance in our arena (usually my kids riding English,
Western and then a stallion or two at liberty) and then we let them into
our baby pasture. It was worth all the work to see their faces light up.
They would literally HOBBLE half way into the pasture and be showered by
foal kisses (boy my insurance adjuster probably would have had a heart
attack if he knew about this). They would tell me stories of when they
were young and on farms and rode horses..... they would become children
again. Then they would pile back on the bus and become adults once more.
We lost our ranch in a real estate fraud action, but I always knew that
if we ever had a place conducive to doing that again, I would. It was
really special. These pics really brought back these very special
memories. Thanks again.
