Ca/Phosphorus ratios
The Beet pulp and grain mix probably balance each other out.
Grass hay has anywhere from a 2:1 Ca:P ratio to, especially
if grown in acidic, sandy soil, 0.8:1. Adult horses can handle excess
calcium well, as long as their kidneys are functioning. There
are a few that seem to have problems with thumps if on alfalfa hay
or other high calcium feeds, but that seems to be a highly individual
problem. Sounds to me as if your program is fine.
Sarah and Fling (who wishes Mom would feed her that much grain-even
if she is too fat)
