Re: Advice on hobbling

I had to hobble train one of my horses, 14 yrs old never been hobbled. And
had to train him quick, long story involving the chief of police's loose
mini stallion.

I put the hobbles on one front foot at a time, attached a lead rope and
taught him to give to pressure on the hobble. When I could lead him around
by each foot I went ahead and hobbled him. Gave him hay to keep him occupied
while he figured it out.

This worked very well for me. Took about 20 minutes and he never fought the
hobbles. Good Luck.

Cheryl
