Re:diarrhea

I have the usual endurance rider's obsession with their horse's manure, and
I've gone from one extreme to the other with two mares. The first just
didn't manure at all until the second leg of an 80k or longer ride - that
caused me much anxiety and close examination of the product when it finally
happened to make sure all was well. She never manured during training rides
either, 'waiting' until we arrived back home. With my new mare I had the
opposite problem - largely, I am convinced, due to nerves. While she didn't
quite have what I would call diarrhoea, her manure was looser than I would
have liked, and I worried about it contributing to dehydration. I feed her
a probiotic before a ride, which does the trick.
