Re: people conditioning

Actually, one good thing about breaking my leg was that it made me vigilant
to get back in the saddle. I can't run, just enough to do my own trot out.
But i walk 3 miles 4 days a week (my leg and knee can't do much more than
that yet, only been out of the fixator 5 months), I use a total gymn at
home, an ellipse machine at work as that has no joint impact for my leg, and
lift small weights. I also watch diet. Between steroids screwing up how my
body processed carbs, and being on a walker for 6 months, I gained 50
pounds. I'm proud to say I have lost 25 so far, and expect to reach my goal
by summer. Maribeau will be relieved! <VBG> I also do longe line work, doing
all my basic dressage excercises on the longe both with and without
stirrups. I have just begun to be able to post again, and without pain, and
if i keep it up at this rate, should be competing next year again! Hurray!
