The seat is hard but your butt get used to it (maybe I'm just a
hard...hiney) but half chaps fixed that problem and my english leathers
bothered me more than the leathers on the McClellan.  I have never had a
problem with the girth rubbing in the "armpit" area because we make use of
the center fire rigging which is another reason I like them... no girth
sores!
