RE: FW: Ridecamp Rules -- A Few More?

another thing which might be nice relates to how to manage an informational
question which goes to the group. something like:

"how about those reactor pannel saddles - anyone have any comments?"

as a general protocol, if we can:

a) have responces to this type of question go >only< back to the original
person who asked the question - not back to ridecamp in general.

b) the original person that asks the question needs to then collect the
responces (i.e. become an editor) and then post the collection back to
ridecamp, as in" re: reactor Panel question" ....

in the "connection", please always remember to place the name/address of the
person that responded to you along with relivant information (i.e. you are
the editor so you can cut/paste for editorial purposes.

If you (roughly) follow the above protocol then the number of messages
posted to the list goes down and the information content, the answers
collection, goes up. better signal-to-noise ratio:)

Got back from the AERC mid year BOD meeting last night -
so thrilled to see that Ridecamp is on the rebound! Thanks
to all of you for respecting the need to streamline the
list. Much much better.

I'll try to summarize the BOD meeting when I find a little
time.

Here are a few more rules which will especially help those
of you who subscribe to the digest:

• Be considerate of those on the Digest format. Snip and clip down to
the essence of the post to which you are responding, so that Digest
folks don't have to wade through endless repeated posts and multiple tag
lines.

• Please limit your own "tag line" to no more than three? four?

Steph
