I think you could substitute an awful lot of words for "Russian".  I went 
out last year and took the resting pulse of every horse on our 
property.  None of them were over 35, quite a few for some reason were 
at  26 (I think I might have posted this to the list).  Some of these are 
about half Russian.  Some are not.  However about 90% of them were 
chestnuts - but I don't think that's significant!!  On the other hand, all 
the ones with 26 pbm were sired by our stallion, and maybe that's more 
significant.

Not enough horses to do a proper study and no willingness to get more to do
