Sandy - maybe you've hit on the way to manage the overworked horse syndrome. 
  Unfortuantely, I don't think AERC would be so enthusiastic about counting 
hours instead of miles.  Why not both???? Of course, it could be that in the 
spirit of endurance, the fewer the hours and the longer the miles would be 
the count.  Sorry, probably won't get credit for tail ending competition.
