Is this really true?  Maybe it's riskier than lawn bowling or croquet, but 
there sure are a lot of other sports I can think of that are way more 
dangerous.

Mountain climbing.  Rock climbing.  Mountain biking.  Hang gliding.  Sky 
diving.  Bungee jumping.  Skiing.  Ski jumping.  Bull riding.  Oh heck - 
any sport that your feet are higher off the ground than stirrup level or 
that you go faster than a canter on a trail is incredibly more dangerous 
than endurance riding!  Dog sledding.  Hunting.  Scuba diving.  Target 
shooting.  Fencing.  Off hand, I could more easily keep track of sports 
that are safer than those more dangerous!  Heck, even poker playing is more 
dangerous (think of all that second hand smoke inhalation!)  Lif
