Glow-Bars

Quick (newbie) question -

Are the glow-bars that you can buy at the drug store this time of year 
(halloween) pretty much the same as those sold in endurance catalogs, or are 
they cheaper short-lived ones?  at 99 cents, I'd think this would be the 
time of year to stock up, but I've never had to use them before.
