Re: Unidentified subject!
I have been off the computer for a couple of days but was dismayed to find
the tone of these posts to be so negative and selfish. Thanks for Karen's
(Dreamweaver) perspective on this issue. Anyone who has ever tried to put on
a ride could tell you of the travails of getting enough help, especially
vets. I, for one do not envy the time that vets must put into their everyday
practices let alone agreeing to make themselves available during a weekend
which often requires them to drive long distances. And for the head vet, we
are talking three days. The pay can not be the reason they give of
themselves, and I am so thankful that they are willing to be involved for
the benefit of the sport. So when I hear someone griping about not having
enough vets, it pushes a very sensitive button for me. It is always
difficult to find those very special people. As for 100 milers cutting line
for vetting, I think Karen took care of that little whine just fine. I will
only second that one. I think that lines of any kind and anywhere bring out
the best and the worst in people. How good it is to have a happy, laid back
person to defuse the angry, muttering ones. After all, it is all a matter of
perspective, isn't it?
(It's still good to be back)
