You DO reward the whole team--not just the top three.  Have you noticed that 
when FEI hands out team medals, all four stand on the podium, even if one got 
pulled?  And they DO work together--the teams that do so and FINISH at least 
three tend to get medals, whereas those who don't tend to have an attrition 
rate and NOT get team medals...
