Pulling up hills and muscles

Canter uphill on medium grades, doing intervals. 
Makes real nice butt and inner thigh muscles and
teaches the horse to balance themselves .
 These things take time. Stopping and backing  
and other "basic" reining moves also help the 
horse learn to rock his center of gravity back
and elevate the forehand, but are gymnastics 
that must be introduced at a slow pace.
Ride more, ride alot more. The horse will learn.
