   I ditto Sheila's suggestion, Anita.  I had the same girth problem with 
Jadiba when she was five (and tried several types of girth).  I must add 
though that I then felt the need to make sure I also used both a breast 
plate and crupper in the interest of safety (but then you know how safety 
conscious I am).
