If the options were your horse in the event without you, or not in
the ride at all, would you still feel the same way??  You clearly
have not ever broken your collar bone.  It is one of the most painful
and debilitating breaks you can experience.  Not to mention that by
riding Darla was risking more serious injury.  I would have been
extremely surprised if she had chosen to ride a 100 miles with the
injury she has, and if I were a team member I would be extremely
worried about her safety if she had ridden.

I can't speak for the other riders (actually, I can't speak for Darla
either), but I think the choice made for Darla was a very wise
decision.
