WORMS

Hi, all.  Hoping you can shed some light on something for me.

 

 

A friend of mine has an incredibly strict worming regimen, which follows a biannual cycle:

 

Year 1 : deworm every six weeks with ivermectin, worm for tape in Spring; and

 

Year 2 : deworm every eight weeks with Quest.

 

 

She is now in the middle of Year 2 and her horses have worms.

 

 

According to our vet, the worms have become immune to ivermectin, and the only way to get rid of them is to do a panacur purge twice per year (which I do once per year at present, anyway).

 

 

According to our vet, we are in a similar position to the Australians re worms, and I would love to hear from some Aussie Ridecampers about this.

 

 

What about daily wormers?  Do they work?
