RE: Special Mixed Epoxy Pads

I currently use Equi-Build, a fast setting urethane product from Equi-Thane
on the soles of one of my horses that stone bruises easily. I'm very
impressed with the product, except for the price. It requires a special
"gun" to hold the twin tubes of the mixture and mixing tips that attach to
the gun. Because the stuff sets so fast, you end up using one tip per hoof.
One set of the largest tubes will do 2-3 hooves depending on your horse's
hoof size, depth of foot and wether you fill all the way down to the ground
level of the shoe or just to the level of the mesh pad that is between the
hoof wall and the shoe. My horse really improved with the pads, I can work
over rocks without worry and the hoof and frog stay clean and sound under
the urethane unlike the stinking soft foot you frequently get with standard
pads. Any more questions??

Does anyone have experience with a compuond that is an epoxy that is mixed
and then laid into the foot and allowed to harden into a full pad. One kind
incorporates a mesh and the other doesn't. Any thoughts good, bad or ugly?
Do they last in endurance? Please e-mail me privately at KAdams@orgtek.com

My Vet would like me to try these to add support at the sole area. I have
been using Luwex rim pads and have recently changed to ShockTamers Rim pads.
This "stuff" would replace the use of the rim pad and would not be under the
shoe, but just in the sole area. Thanks in advance. Kathy
