Re: pleasant dreams before a ride

Kathy Myers magnumsmom@aol.com
I slept the night before Castle Rock. This is how
I did it:

Work 40 hours between Monday and Wednesday. Work
12 hours on Thursday and then start a big production
database rollout. Finish about 1 am. Drive 1/2
hour home and flop into bed at 1:30am. Get up at
5:30 to get back into work at 6am to make sure all
machines and databases are up and runing. Leave
work at noon to pack and load horse. Get to camp
about 4. Feed horse, vet, electrolyte, blanket.
Feed horse circus animal cookies. Then eat.
By now it's dark.

Now here's the important part:
Have good friend with nice gooseneck who will let
you sleep on 1/2 of a REAL matress. Bring your
real pillow from home with a real pillowcase.

That pretty much worked. Those blow up matresses
are pretty comfy too. But I get cold on them unless
I have plenty of insulation between me and the blow
up matress.

The morning of Castle Rock I found out my watch was
15 minutes slow, but we still made the start in
plenty of time. :)
